I'm prayyying that I get this hostess/serving job at a restaurant that just opened up here. If I get it, AND work at least 40 hours a week, I should get about $300 a week. If that's the case, (and my math is about right) after paying only tithing and gas.. I can be in Vegas by the end of December or early January. I should have a little over 3,500, if I started in the next week or so. Risky.. I get that. But I think I can pull it off. Plus any tips I make would help. I've applied at Joann's, PartyCity, Papa Murphy's, TJMaxx, Panda, and this place in the last few days.
I would LOVE to find a job in Vegas before I moved, but I understand that may not be possible. Here's two directions my plan can go in at that point.
1) Move to Vegas without a job (which I would nottt rather do), and live with a friend for a month or so.
Pay a little rent, or do an exchange with them for something they need (like mow the lawn for their family or babysit).
First week I'm there... job hunt. I would want to stay with that person for a month, just to make sure my job is stable.
And in that time, I would go out and look at the apartments that I've already started researching.
Lucky for me, Em says she would be able to move in with me in January. BUT, if plans change, I can pay for a months rent (that I made sure I had before leaving CA) by myself until I can find another roommate.
2) Move to Vegas with a job already set up. I don't know how possible this is. Ive heard of interviewing over the phone, and interviewing over something like Skype. But once it gets a little closer to 'leaving time' I can start applying to jobs in Vegas again.
Once I'm there ..... oh my gosh. I just realized... I wont be able to get an apartment on my own, before I've started working in Vegas. Because you have to usually show an apartment complex a pay stub, to ensure that you'll be able to pay your rent.
So I guess like plan one is my only option. :/ Now I just need to think who I can stay with :/
This is what I've estimated with pricing.
